On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, an event called “Feria de la Lectura” held in the auditorium of the Xochicalco University. The event consisted of, as its name suggests, a fair where there were numerous stands representing a theme related to reading. Third semesters were responsible for preparing the stands and making the magic. We were assigned one stand per group, with a topic related to literature. We were in charge of decorating our stand, preparing an activity and making an exposition of our topic. Our classroom, 304, had the incredible opportunity of presenting about literary creation. We were divided into four teams to make the best of our presentation. There was a decorating team, an exposition team, a printing team, and a team in charge of giving prices. We also divided the time of the fair into shifts. In every shift, there was one or two members of each team. At 7 A.M. the decoration started, but, for some reason, our decoration team was allowed to go to the auditorium at ...

Mathematical Reasoning activity

Math Reasoning our experience during the activity of 27 th of November. The activity involved our team answering a Kahoot activity about the different topics we saw in Mathematical reasoning, the topics ranged from geometry like basic formulas of shapes to what we previously saw, like circumference and how to identify the different lines in a circle. The activity was quite short but it was fun while it lasted, we personally saw the activity a tiny bit easy but we got a question wrong in the team which was the description of circumference which we didn’t understand, the activity included many basic formulas and knowledge questions ranging from things about a circle to others like a parabola. Out of the team David got all the questions correct because he is quite good at math and its knowledge. The Kahoot reminded us about the formulas of the circle and its parts like the string, the circumference, the radio, and many others, the activity took us about 5 minute to complete, with that ...

Science Rally Report

Imagen
On October 26th, 2024, the first science rally was held at Xochicalco High School. All three high school grades were invited to participate, both traditional and bilingual modalities. The game was played in teams of five students, with the condition that they had to be students of the same modality and grade. For better organization, the rally took different schedules for each year and modality, so the first semester traditional students had the event at a different time than the bilingual students, and so on consecutively for each semester of high school.      The activity consisted of two parts: physical activity and mental agility. The first one was about completing different physical challenges, for example, sack race, in this activity, the contestants were all lined up at the starting line, the first in line had to jump with the sack on his feet and get to the finish line, then take off the sack and run back to the starting line again, wher...

Hercules play

Imagen
During the literature fair, some classmates from the school presented the play Hercules. They had already presented it at the Cecut a few days before, but the school gave them the opportunity to present it on stage. It was very well acted, the voices of the classmates were identical to those in the movie. Another thing was that it was too funny. We had a good time watching it and laughing at the jokes in the play.

Literary Fair

On November 15th of this year we had the literature fair. Each group had to make a stand depending on the topic they were assigned. Our topic was literary creation. For this, we decided to make a game that consisted of choosing a paper from a cup, each paper had a mini game with words related to our theme. We had a great time, as we had the opportunity to visit other stands that were very nice.

Biology Lab

On November 8th, the teacher Eduardo (biology teacher) took us to the Laboratory to see how the microscope works. First we made teams and, for each team, the teacher assigned us one microscope. Then, he taught us the parts of the microscope, their names and functions. After making sure that we know how to use it, he loaned us some samples of different parts of the body infected and parts of plants to see them throw the microscope.

Laboratory

Teacher Eduardo Rubio took us to the lab on November 8th and after finishing multiple activities, he showed us a camera that had a lot of zoom. He placed many samples under the camera, like a sea urchin, a starfish (like is shown on the photo) and even a classmate decided to place a cut she had under the camera, we must say that was an unforgettable experience.
